P37731 Which hardware does lambda run on? link reply
Of course don't tell me any more than what you feel comfortable with sharing, even if that amounts to nothing.
I would like to run a similar site and want to know what kind of hardware specs I would need for it, if a 5$ vps is good enough for the job.

It's a pretty old machine, so a $5 VPS ought to be more than enough.

it can be run on a 20 year old laptop (Intel Celeron) with 512MB of RAM (The system uses only 384MB). CPU usage ranges from 2 - 4% when uploading files. There will be a short spike when restarting webserver. Make sure you install lightweight desktop environments like LXDE and not Gnome and Xfce. LXDE works well on old machines.
